Ian Walters is our Production Director and there’s not a lot he doesn’t know about the business or the corrugated industry.

He joined the business officially in May 1993 but had helped out on Saturday mornings and school holidays since 1987 as his parents owned the business!

Since May 1993 he worked in the factory for many years running machines and gaining valuable hands-on experience. The only challenge he faced was when he worked on the printer slotter – Ian is colour blind, so it was far from his ideal job!

Ian quickly progressed to becoming Assistant Production Manager and began to help out in the office swiftly learning everything that happened behind the scenes. When the Production Manager at the time left the company in 2004, he took over the role and then became Production Director in 2008.

“I know I am a little biased but Red Rose Packaging really is a great place to work, and I’ve had many happy years here,” said Ian. “I enjoy the various challenges the role can throw at you and really enjoy helping our customers, especially when their challenge is a little more unusual.

“Now, as we celebrate 40 years in business, I’m the only one of the family remaining in the business but the future looks great for the us.

“Being under the Logson Group banner is great and with our new MD Stuart Clarke on board we will go from strength to strength.”

Outside of work Ian is a keen golfer, however by his own admission he won’t be switching careers anytime soon! He does a lot of gardening and enjoys watching films and tv to relax.

Red Rose Packaging was family owned by the Walters family for many years with his sister, Sharon Garner, retiring earlier this year.
