More and more businesses are looking at ways of reducing their carbon footprints and that is certainly the case with our team here.
Paul Barnes, our Design Manager, is passionate about the environment and supports our customers to ensure they choose the most sustainable form of packaging and that their packaging is designed to maximise material efficiencies wherever possible.
But, in addition to that, our team has been working with Comply Direct to assess the environmental impact of a business, assists in the development of a carbon management plan, and helps businesses focus on becoming more sustainable.
To facilitate this, a Carbon Footprint Audit was undertaken and, whilst more significant changes will be planned in the future, the team found new ways of becoming more sustainable and offsetting their impact by helping global projects.
Sharon Garner, Director, Red Rose Packaging commented; “We are delighted to receive our certificate to say that in 2021 Red Rose Packaging was a Carbon Neutral company. We will continue to have robust process of measuring, targeting, reducing and offsetting our processes and procedures to hopefully be carbon neutral for 2022 whilst we continue to seek new longer term ways of minimising our environmental impact.”
Projects supported through the scheme with Comply Direct include REDD+ Protecting the Amazon, Providing Clean Cookstoves in Kenya, Renewable Energy, delivering wind generation in India and Tree planting in the UK.
All projects are backed by Verified Carbon Standard Offsets. The verified carbon standard was developed by the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), the Climate Group (TCG), the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the World Economic Forum, governed by the VCS Steering Committee.
